The Book About It Links

Hessland is a book designed by Cleveland native, Jeremiah Boncha. Being in his final year at the Cleveland Institute of Art, Jeremiah was required to create a thesis statement and then a project to compliment the thesis. The thesis is as follows:

"My thesis is an investigation into the work of Cleveland artist, Derek Hess. In this piece, I am taking his work and putting it into the environment of Cleveland to see how the work relates back to the environment."

Derek Hess is an artist who is native to Cleveland as well. He made has name in the city and continues to live and work in Cleveland. He got his name known by doing rock posters for local venues, some can now be found in museums including the Louvre. Derek continues to produce work for the music industry but has focussed a lot of his time on doing fine art. The work of Derek's that is used in the book is all fine art from his recent show, "I Bet You Think These Drawing Are About You."
